David is the son of a Sussex farmer and attended the Lewes County Grammar School. He has two sons and a grandson and lives in Broadstairs. On leaving school he joined the Inland Revenue where he remained until being head hunted by a national tax consultancy firm. He then worked as a tax manager for a firm of chartered accountants based in Eastbourne and in Brighton. Whilst working for the Brighton firm he started his own practice on a part time basis. He then joined a firm of accountants in London's West End also on a part time basis while his own practice was growing. The West End firm was only supposed to be a short temporary assignment but whilst he was there he was promoted to Personal Tax Manager looking after the accounts of many famous actors and film directors. Meanwhile David’s own practice in Eastbourne grew steadily and he now looks after many small businesses such as builders, electricians, hotels, florists, taxi drivers, dental surgeons, carpenters, engineers, plumbers, painters, equestrian centres, carpet fitters, aromatherapists, reflexologists, hairdressers, entertainers, magicians, disc jockeys, wild life rescue and electrical wholesalers. He also handles tax returns for private clients. David Cox has been looking after the tax and accountancy affairs of small businesses and the self employed in and around the Eastbourne area for over 30 years and has run a full time practice since 1981. He is a member of the Association of Certified Public Accountants and has run the Sussex Branch since it was formed. He offers a personal service for a reasonable fee, where by clients can be seen either in their office, their business premises or at home. Visits can be arranged without incurring any additional charges. Most visits are on Saturdays with the occasional Friday. He doesn't have much spare time but being a long time supporter of the aEastbourne Eagles Speedway Team he can be found most Saturday evenings (during the season) at Arlington Stadium.
